rePlan and Regional Consultations in Papua New Guinea

rePlan is taking part in regional consultations in Papua New Guinea (PNG) on changes to the country's mining legislation. rePlan, as a sub consultant to Adam Smith International, is working with national counterparts on a national Involuntary Resettlement Policy that will be aligned with forthcoming changes to the Mining Act.

The consultation is taking place in central locations in four regions of the country – Mt Hagan, Lae, Kokopo and Port Moresby - with the final forum held in Port Moresby on August 23, 2013. The Involuntary Resettlement Policy, in addition to a Mine Sustainability Policy and Mine Closure Policy, is funded as part of the World Bank Mining Sector Support Program.
