rePlan to Present on Land Access at PDAC 2015

rePlan is proud to have been selected from among a record-breaking number of proposals to present a 90-minute session called “New Approaches to Land Access: Lessons from the Field" at this year's PDAC convention. The CSR Event Series at the PDAC Convention provides an opportunity for dialogue and learning on issues related to social and environmental performance in the exploration and mining industry.

rePlan Principal Christopher Johnstone, who will moderate the session, will start things off by describing common and costly challenges to land access experienced by mining companies and sharing some common findings from mine sites around the world. Brief presentations from a panel of experts on different aspects of the land access process will follow, including:

  • Resolving conflict through effective mediation
  • Building more sustainable and cost-effective resettlement villages
  • Restoring and improving livelihoods
  • Managing risks and results with effective information systems
  • Monitoring and evaluating success

Speaking on the panel are the following people:

  • Edwin Urresta, rePlan Principal and Director for Latin America
  • Graeme Burt, Principal, rePlan
  • Caleb Wall, Senior Partner, ERM
  • Tom Walsham, Director of Product Development, TWG
  • Aaron Steeghs, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, IAMGOLD

"New Approaches to Land Access: Lessons from the Field" will take place from 9:30 - 10:55 AM at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building, Room 803.
