Pre-Feasibility Study/Baseline Studies
rePlan has been working with Goldcorp in Timmins, Ontario to identify the unique challenges and opportunities of mining in close proximity to an urban environment. During the pre-feasibility phase of the Hollinger Mine project, rePlan developed socio-economic and visual baseline studies, in addition to identifying potential affected areas and mitigation requirements for a number of pit scenarios. As part of the visual baseline study, interim and post-mining rehabilitation models were developed to demonstrate the potential for mitigating mining impacts through design interventions. In addition, these models explore opportunities for economic development while improving the overall visual environment and enhancing the historic mining character of the area and the overall urban experience.
