Beyond Zero Harm

rePlan serves as the lead consultant providing technical guidance to the Beyond Zero Harm project. This multi-stakeholder initiative is being led by IAMGOLD and includes industry members such as HudBay, Barrick, First Quantum, Ryerson University, and three large NGOs. This project aims to develop and field test a set of universal indicators to measure and demonstrate the changes in well-being of mine-impacted communities.

We have evaluated numerous international frameworks measuring community development and qualitative and quantitative indicators. Based on this research, we have developed a list of community well-being indicators evaluating social, human, physical, natural and economic capital.  The guidance we are developing on these indicators includes recommendations on improved reporting, realistic data collection methods and means of monitoring changes in community well-being.  rePlan is now co-leading the pilot of this new system.
