Esaase Social Impact Assessment and Local Growth Plan

rePlan provided Asanko Gold (formerly Keegan Resources) with strategic advice around social issues, including options for minimizing resettlement related to their mining operation in Ghana. The scope of work was expanded to include co-ordinating a Baseline Study and Social Impact Assessment. Internal and external stakeholder workshops were organized as part of the impact assessment process and in developing an array of social management plans, including stakeholder engagement plan, influx management plan, vulnerable support plan and strategic community development plan. rePlan also assisted the company in identifying potential government and NGO partners to work with on social management implementation, and in coordinating  mine planning with the physical planning and growth of the local area in support of Asanko Gold’s efforts to avoid physical displacement and resettlement.
