For the Essakane gold mine, the largest private investment in Burkina Faso, rePlan prepared and implemented a Resettlement Action Plan to guide the compensation, resettlement and livelihoods restoration of affected households in accordance with international best practice. rePlan engaged continuously with project affected people, gathered extensive baseline data, planned and implemented livelihoods restoration programs, conducted monitoring and evaluation post-implementation and carried out detailed physical planning and design related to the construction of new communities for 11,500 residents.

rePlan also prepared Pre-Feasibility and Bankable Feasibility Social Review Reports, a Social Impact Assessment, a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, and an Influx Management Plan.

rePlan worked closely with the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency as well as public and private investors to ensure that plans reflected international standards.
