Tarkwa

Tarkwa Resettlement Project

rePlan managed the negotiation with, and resettlement of, approximately 22,000 people in what is, to date, Africa’s largest mine-related resettlement project. The complex negotiation process – involving 14 impacted communities and over 80 formal negotiation meetings with committees, local traditional leaders, and local and regional government – led to the construction of a new 35-hectare community called New Atuabo, with housing, services and public facilities.
