Fredrik is a Project Director with rePlan and has more than 20 years of experience in managing development projects in Latin America and Africa. He has extensive experience in resettlement management and stakeholder engagement, with rural households, civil society organizations, and all levels of government. He excels at building trust through participatory processes to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Fredrik have worked with the UN for more than 10 years managing institutional building projects as well as refugee, resettlement and emergency operations. He continued to work with land titling, capacity building and community development for indigenous autonomous regions and territories in Nicaragua and Bolivia implementing WB and ILO policies. In Nicaragua he was also responsible for the management of a state social investment fund (FISE) in the Caribbean autonomous regions where he lead the implementation of social infrastructure projects such as schools, health posts, water and sanitation.

From 2008 when Fredrik joined rePlan to late 2011, he has led a linear land acquisition and resettlement project at Barrick Gold’s Pueblo Viejo Project in the Dominican Republic. Based on the IFC Performance Standard 5 compliant compensation framework developed under his direction, Fredrik’s team reached negotiated compensation agreements with close to 500 landholders affected by the project. Between January and October 2012 he helped lead land acquisition and resettlement activities at Rio Tinto’s Simandou project, managing a team of resettlement planners and surveyors and between November 2012 and April 2013 he planned a resettlement linked to a large wind farm installation in the state of Tamaulipas in Mexico. Since May 2013 Fredrik is managing a large scale resettlement project at Freeport-McMoRan’s TFM project in the DRC, where he manages a team of over 40 staff, as well as supporting the LKAB’s urban transformation process in the city of Kiruna, Sweden and Lonrho’s Atuabo Freeport Development in Ghana. In addition to his native Swedish, Fredrik has fluent English, Spanish and French.
