Graeme Burt


Graeme is a community planning and development specialist and a Principal of rePlan. His work focuses on communities and regions that are undergoing rapid change, particularly as a result of resource development, and assists clients and project stakeholders in managing that process in a collaborative, informed, proactive, and sustainable manner. In his 15 years of experience, Graeme has worked with a broad range of private sector clients (e.g., resource companies, land/housing developers) and public sector clients (e.g., national and local governments, international financial institutions) across Canada and in more than 20 countries around the world. In recent years, Graeme has led the preparation and implementation of numerous Land Acquisition and Resettlement Plans, Worker Housing Plans, Growth/In-Migration Management Plans, Community/Regional Development Plans, Social Assessments and Management Plans, and Stakeholder Engagement Plans. Graeme graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Geography (Hons.) and Economics, and received a Master’s Degree in Human Geography from the Pennsylvania State University. He is Founding Board Member of the Centre for Urban Growth and Renewal, a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and a Registered Professional Planner, and has written and lectured widely on community planning and development issues around the world.
