Resettlement Coordinator

Jose has over nine years of project experience in architecture and urbanism across countries like México, Libya, Panamá, Nicaragua and Colombia. He specializes in developing resettlement strategies with emphasis on the analysis of resettlement impacts to physical space. He has experience in urban design and planning, housing design, and land acquisition through participatory design processes. In his current project in Colombia Jose oversees and coordinates a multidisciplinary team for the resettlement of three communities, ensuring compliance with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) guidelines. Previously, he worked with rePlan in Nicaragua and Panamá, leading the design of housing and community structures, as well as the spatial and urban design strategies to mitigate the impacts of the resettlement process. Jose combines a background in architecture and urbanism, with strong skills in negotiations and participatory design processes. He has four years of experience in the viability of mega projects and community development. Jose is a native Spanish speaker and speaks fluent English.
